The artwork is based on a photo by the band from "Lavu Santu" beach, Korsika and a digital collage on the backcover created with the intention to illustrate the band´s dynamic combining a tribal, analog approach to their songwriting mixed with modern electronics and loop systems, reminiscent of both Krautrock and minimal dance music. SICKER MAN, "Off the trail" (ALBUM ART), 2018 /// Albumartwork for "Sicker Man"´s 2018 album "Off the trail". On the album you find a selection of beautiful, haunting pieces written over the last 5 years by Tobias Vethake. The artwork concept is based on the idea of the artist writing "off the trail", regarding his usual way of composing - as this time Vethake´s pieces are focused basically on the cello. In the image, the wanderer gets lost. Hanging in between spaces, unfixed, forlorn, but also, unbound. What seems to carry him - or maybe tying him up - is the reflection of his cello´s strings. I understand music, for the most part, as a possesion - same as it is a passion - that has the power both to free and to haunt the player or composer and his audience. Now, where this trip goes is up to the listener and the observer. As we are lingering, together, in the open, off the trail. The collage and drawing is based on a photography by Oli Grimm.

FRIEDEMANN "LIVE II" (ALBUM ART), 2019 Happy to show you the new Coverart for "Friedemann"´s 2019 Live-Album "Mehr Sein Als Schein" that will released on Exile on Mainstream Records in October. The motive refers to the album title, which works as a word-play on the basis of the german expression "Mehr Schein als Sein", meaning "making an impression to be more than you actually are" - posing. Friedemann inverted that saying, demanding an act of liberation to "BE instead of APPEAR TO BE". The mask has to come off, and is put on a nail in the wall - also this being a german expression, meaning "to quit something", to leave something behind. It´s my fifth design for the man, and it´s always a challange and truly inspiring to work with him. I find much of what i am looking for also in his lyrics - raw, simple expression, with a connection to the soul as straight as possible.
